“This is the place that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people. That’s why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone. You needed all of them and they needed you.”
- Christian Shephard

This was everything that I needed it to be, and more. More than I ever thought it would be, could be, etc. The last scene (and quote) is something that will stick with me for a very, very long time because after EVERYTHING this show has done, every insane explanation and scenario it's thrown at the viewers these past 6 seasons, the End was SIMPLE. They needed each other. That's it. Nothing more and nothing less because at the core of it all, the show has always been about the most simplistic, basic human needs. And this? The need for love. Forgiveness. Acceptance.

I don't feel like I "lost an old friend" (no pun intended) and I'm not going to lose too much sleep over the fact that this show is over. What does sadden me is that there will no longer be a television show of this quality, this calibur, available to us. Instead we'll get trapped in the mindnumbing, thoughtless, trash of something along the lines of "The Bachelorette: Round 8, I'll swear I'll get it right this time" or "Dancing with the [D-List] Stars" (yeah, I went there) as opposed to a show that makes you think - or better yet, ASK QUESTIONS. I'm not a TV snob by any means, and I'm notorious for getting sucked into the "16 and Pregnant" marathons but I can differentiate between something like Lost and The Office. Both of which, I equally adore but for different reasons.

To end my rambling & wrap things up: I'm not going to confess my undying love for the series and how I'm so bummed that it's over. I'm not going to recap the entire thing and try and explain the "unanswered" questions that are still left, I'm not going to talk about how I sobbed though the last 45 minutes in the episode (ok, this is true. on my initial rewatch by myself, I cried like a baby) or how I've been listening to nothing but the scores from the series for the last 24 hours (again, true.) I'm just going to leave it as the way I see it. Simple. And not to mention, perfect.

dream a little dream

Binks are the Best

I got to spend a good chunk of the weekend with that cute face (sans bink, sometimes) and I think I went a little bit overboard with the photos on Saturday but I'm blaming it on my newfound love for the Hipstamatic App for my iPhone. No seriously, the possibilities seem to be endless and I can't stop taking them. It just so happens that Maggie is the perfect subject to test it out on since, if it's not obvious, I can't stop taking pictures of her anyway. So I'm putting them all in a seperate set on my Flickr. But who could resist this face?

Serious Face

I always laugh because she looks SO SERIOUS in most of the photos I take. But I've realized that it's just due to the fact that when she smiles and is generally being the most adorable thing in this whole world, I lose control over all brain functions other than squeeing, laughing, smiling and planting kisses all over those perfect cheeks! To even think about trying to snap a photo in those moments is hilarious because you know, I'm trying to remind myself to keep breathing and not die. And while this girl has perfected the serious face, she also smiles and grins and drools all the time...and it is absolutely my favorite thing in the whole world.

My second favorite thing that I really probably love just as equally?

Sleepy Girl

Holding her while she sleeps for so long, my arm falls asleep and shoulder starts to burn. But not realizing it because she's in such a blissful world of awesome baby dreams and I can't look away from the cuteness. I'm only reminded the next day when the ache is still there but I don't mind because it's pretty much the best kind of pain ever. Yes, it does exist.

So, other than going gaga over my Maggie filled weekend, it also included drinks and dancing at the Kilt on Friday night, tequila shots with my roommate on Saturday night for her 21st birthday and the Lost finale last night. The last of which, I am still processing because I haven't quite accepted the fact that it is gone forever. I'm working on that one.
